Course Cost: $200.00

Description:

This is a two day; 14 hour, course for first time DPSST Private Security Unarmed certifications.

The course will cover private security skills, DPSST policies and processes, criminal and civil laws related to the private security field, and emerging threats.

Documents will be available to download once your registration is complete and will remain available to you for future downloads.

Please review the curriculum document prior to class; it will be needed during this course. If you prefer to access this information from the DPSST website you may do so at https://www.oregon.gov/dpsst/PS/Pages/curriculum.aspx/.

Physical copies of the curriculum document will not be provided to you on the day of your class.

Please print or download (to laptop, tablet or smartphone) the Training Curriculum, OAR and ORS and review prior to your scheduled class.  All attendees will utilize these documents in class.

Requirements:

• • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a High School Diploma, GED, or 2 to 4 year Degree
  • Be of Good Moral Fitness
  • Pass a closed book Written Exam with a score of 85% or higher
  • Pass a Verbal Assessment based on a scenario picked by the instructor

Assessments: Course attendees are required to pass a skill assessment based on scenarios provided by the instructor. Students must also pass a closed book DPSST exam with a score 85% or above.

DPSST Certification Fees: The price of this course does not include the DPSST applications fees. DPSST fees ($124.25) will need to be paid by the student to DPSST by either debit/credit card, check, or money order made payable to “DPSST”.

Fingerprinting: Students will need to schedule an appointment with FieldPrint prior to class www.fieldprintoregon.com/. When prompted for “Fieldprint Code” enter the following:

FieldPrint has a fee of $12.50 which is paid online when making the appointment.

Students will need to provide a printed receipt from a completed fingerprinting appointment or a printed confirmation of an appointment to be fingerprinted. This is required as part of your Application Packet

Course Cancellations and No Shows:

Purchase confirms registration for the above course.

• • Cancellations – Must be received no later than 24 hours prior to the course date.
  • No Shows – If the student is a “no show” for the course all deposit fees will be forfeited and the student may have future class registrations denied.
    
  • Second day No Shows: If a student attended the first day of class but fails to attend the second day of class, all course fees will be forfeited.

Refund Policy:

The course payment will be refunded upon receiving a cancellation notice as long as the notice was received no later than 24 hours prior to the course date. Cancellations received within 24 hours of the course date will not be eligible for a full refund. A 50% refund may be issued at the instructor’s discretion.

Course payments are non-refundable once the course has started.
